Mustered into state service by companies on May 11-13, 1861.
Designated the 2nd Infantry Regiment on June 1, 1861.
Regiment mustered in June 8, 1861.
Transferred to Confederate service on July 1, 1861.
Reorganized ca. April 20, 1862.
Field consolidation with the 4th, 5th, 27th, and 33rd Infantry Regiments from May 1864 to April 1865.
Surrendered at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865.
