Some of the men of the disbanded Nelson Artillery Battery and the Middlesex Artillery Battery transferred to this battery on October 4, 1862, per S.O. #209, Headquartes, Army of Northern Virginia.
Armed with two 20-lb. Parrotts and two 12-lb. Napoleans from July 1, 1863 to December 26, 1864.
Reenlisted for the war on January 12, 1864.
Surrendered at Appomattox Court House, Virginia on April 9, 1865.
